MODU - Offshore AsiaKCA DEUTAG is currently operating in Brunei, Indonesia and Thailand in South East Asia, and through our engineering division, RDS, is providing engineering services for projects in Australia and Korea.

South East Asia is the largest tender assist rig market. KCA DEUTAG currently manages five tender assist rigs in Asia and a sixth rig will move to Asia from West Africa in early 2009.

In Thailand, the Charley Graves rig is working under contract for Chevron Thailand.

In Indonesia, the Global Jade (ex. Barracuda) commenced a two-year contract with Total E&P Indonesia in April 2008.

Petronas has awarded a contract for the Searex IX and Global Sapphire (ex. Alligator) tender assist rigs to work offshore Malaysia, commencing Q4 2008 and Q3 2009 respectively.

The Global Emerald (ex. Al Baraka -1) commenced work in Q4 2008 for Brunei Shell Petroleum.

Brunei
Land rig in Asia KCA DEUTAG has been providing onshore drilling services in Brunei since 1977, and was awarded a three-year contract by Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn.Bhd. for the provision of a fast-moving, small footprint rig and associated drilling services as part of Brunei Shell's Menang Drilling programme. The T-201, a 350 tonne capacity rig was built for the contract, and operations commenced in 2006.
