Each year the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) North Sea Chapter holds its Annual Safety Awards in recognition of the best safety performance for the previous year. Best safety performers are identified in a number of categories, based on safety statistical data and entries provided by the IADC North Sea Chapter membership. The criteria include the number of recordable incidents, high potential dropped objects and environmental spills to sea.
We are delighted and proud to announce that our KCA Deutag drill crews working on the Murchison Platform (UK North Sea) were recognised for their excellent safety performance over 2014, obtaining the Chairman's Award for the "Best Safety Performance of an Individual Unit."
CNR International's iconic Murchison platform entered the decommissioning stage during 2014, with the engineering down and cleaning of the platform, and plugging and abandonment of the oil wells.
The decommissioning campaign has brought challenges to the drill crews working on the platform. This award not only recognises excellent safety performance, but is also testament to the dedication and commitment of our crews and onshore support in maintaining focus throughout the campaign.
